Union's International Programs will offer a 3-1/2 week Mini-term course abroad in three areas in Brasil. Professor Phillip Snow will be the Faculty Member in Residence.

The course also involves eight REQUIRED orientation meetings/seminars in the fall term to prepare students for the cultural, social, and language topics that they will encounter in Brasil. There will be 3 or 4 meetings during the winter term to wrap up the course and to present both an oral and a written report.

Also: (a) about ½ of the students will be engineering majors and about ½ of the students will be social science or environmental studies majors who can work collaboratively in groups; (b) Certification by the Dean of Students and approval of the Office of International Programs; and (c) an overall cumulative average of 2.3 or greater. Seniors in engineering, environmental studies, and social sciences ( having higher academic cumulative averages overall) will have preference.
