Pendulum Labyrinth Installation is a site-specific installation created by Union Alumni D. Shayne Aldrich ’98 and Tina Tacorian ’03. This beautiful, walk-able sculpture was inspired by the movement of a pendulum, and refers to the passage of time. Its faceted perimeter echoes the deeply symbolic architecture of the Nott Memorial. |

The Schenectady Symphny Orchestra The Schenectady Orchestra is presenting a special, locally-flavored concert at Proctor's. The music is exciting and attractive -- Mozart, Copland, Rimsky-Korsakov, but the "hook" is the photo-choreography of James Westwater on giant screens above the stage. One of Westwater's collages contains photographs of the Capital District sent to him by local photographers; another is a photo-essay set to Copland's popular "Appalachian Spring". In addition, there are three fanfares, one by Hilary Tann, John Howard Payne Professor of Music, and a beautiful Mozart piano concerto performed by superb young local pianist, Allen Yu. The concert is called "Hidden Gems: Mohawk Valley Vistas" (www.schenectadysymphony.org). |
