Among Union’s historical treasures are a first edition of Einstein’s “Theory of Relativity: The Special and General Theory,” and a 1921 manuscript from a lecture series on Einstein’s theory by renowned scientist and Union professor Charles P Steinmetz. Both were donated in 2007 by New Jersey physician and collector Aaron Feingold ’72.

The Wold Lectures on Religion and Violence The Bible, especially the Old Testament, contains a disturbing amount of violence carried out with apparent divine approval. Guest speaker, John J. Collins, Holmes Professor of Old Testament Criticism and Interpretation at Yale University, will probe the nature and context of the violence, and reflect on how it can be understood. The installation of Peter Bedford as the John and Jane Wold Professor of Religious Studies will follow this event. |
