Alumni Relations Volunteer Positions and Responsibilities
- ReUnion Chair: Class Leader within the ReUnion Committee who heads up Committee meetings, assists in determining class timelines, assign's call lists to members of the committee for phone calls out to the class which are organized by athletic, fraternity, or club affiliations as the committee deems appropriate. This Chair person acts as the direct liaison between the alumni office and classmates/committee members. Basically, this person ensures "all bases are covered" prior to ReUnion Weekend.

Help to ensure that your class events run smoothly. We will provide you with a list of your classmates that plan to attend a specific event. This way you can help reacquaint people.
Responsibilities
Arrive 15 minutes early to your specific class event and welcome your classmates.
- Class Caller
Job Description
Contact classmates to encourage their participation in your ReUnion Celebration.Responsibilities:
Divide up a class list amongst volunteers that you will contact. We will provide you with their updates contact information and a calling card. Or you can chose to host a phone-a-thon in which you and several of your classmates will use the call center on campus and make calls during a two hour session. Give them a call, complete a ReUnion Call Sheet and return it to the Office of Alumni Relations. - ReUnion Committee Members: ReUnion Committees are an integral part of our planning process and are essential to the success of ReUnion. Each anniversary class has a ReUnion Planning Committee comprised of elected class leadership and additional classmates who volunteer to help. The committees determined all class specific activities and played a crucial role in assuring participation. Each committee sends a minimum of three letters or postcards to their classmates informing them of the specifics of their ReUnion Celebration. In addition, the committee makes personal phone calls and sends e-mails to encourage both attendance at ReUnion and participation in giving.
Job Description
Help to plan activities and events specific to your class’s ReUnion Celebration. Correspond with your classmates to share plans and encourage their participation.
You will work closely with your liaison from the Office of Alumni Relations, they will assist you in yoru planning. The ReUnion Committee is responsible for planning:
- Class Cocktail Reception
- Determining the parade theme
- Arranging for any parade “costumes”
- Write correspondence letters/postcards/emails to your class
- Spring
- Summer
- Fall
- Winter
- Spring
The Union Fund Volunteer Positions and Responsibilities
The Union Fund is comprised of gifts from alumni, parents, friends, students and College employees. Unrestricted gifts help cover costs for instruction and research, financial aid, auxiliary operations, support for non-academic departments such as admissions, the career center, student services and athletics. The Union Fund’s goals for the 2007-2008 fiscal year are $4.8 million and 43% participation or 9,460 donors.
Volunteers are an invaluable resource to The Union Fund. They provide leadership, feedback and recommendations while promoting Union’s mission and engaging fellow classmates.

- Head Agents:
Job Description: Head agents are current donors who serve as the lead volunteer for his or her class. Working closely with Associate Agents and The Union Fund staff, Head Agents oversee class fundraising. Each class typically has one or two Head Agents and length of service is dependent upon continued interest. Some long standing Head Agents have been “on the job” for over 15 years!
Job Responsibilities:- Determine class dollar and donor goals each fiscal year with Union Fund staff; work with Associate Agents to meet or exceed goals
- Write one or two solicitation letters each year
- Contact 10-15 classmates per year to solicit gifts and provide campus updates
- Recruit and Associate Agents with Union Fund staf
- Associate Agents:
Job Description: Associate Agents are current donors who serve in a leadership position for his or her class by working closely with Head Agents and Union Fund staff to assist with fundraising and classmate outreach. There is no limit to the number of Associate Agents per class and length of service is dependent upon continued interest.
Job Responsibilities:- Work with Head Agents to meet or exceed class fundraising goals
- Contact 10-15 classmates per year to solicit gifts and provide campus updates
- Recruit other Associate Agents to build class network
- Terrace Council Representatives:
Job Description: Terrace Council reps are current leadership donors of $2,000 or more annually who solicit leadership level gifts from his or her class. Each class has a Terrace Council rep and length of service is dependent upon continued interest.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work with Head Agents and Union Fund staff to identify and solicit possible Terrace Council donors within the class
- Contact classmates each year to solicit gifts and provide campus updates
