Bioengineering Center officially opens
The Center for Bioengineering and Computational Biology made its official debut during a ceremony February 8th in Butterfield Hall.


Vision for ALCO site: 'a small city in a city'
Pennsylvania-based Preferred Real Estate Investments Inc. has set its sights on redeveloping 60-acres of old manufacturing land that is less than 5 miles from the Union College campus. Mayor Stratton believes this project is "going to have the greatest potential to singularly revive Schenectady." Do you? Read on.

Ira Rutkow '70 celebrates Union's pioneers in medicine
Dr. Rutkow '70 shared his optimism at Memorial Chapel on Thursday, February 22nd, as the main speaker for the college's annual Founders Day celebration.


Sascha Lewis '92: Virtually Cool
Six years ago he co-founded Flavorpill, the popular SoHo-based new-media company which offers free e-mail magazines and weekly event guides for NYC, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Chicago and Miami.


Engineers honor Duchscherer '67
David Duchscherer '67, a professional engineer for nearly 40 years and a principal of the firm of Wendel Duchscherer, received the coveted Engineer of the Year Award.


Diane Mehta '88: A poet returns to campus
The New York-based poet and critic returned to campus as part of the English Department's year-long program, "Writers Return: Alumni Writer Series."


John Donohue '90: New Yorker cartoonist to hold class
John Donohue, nightlife editor for The New Yorker magazine, is teaching a Manhattan class on how to draw and sell gag cartoons.
