The Annual Fund Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are an invaluable resource to the Annual Fund. They provide leadership, feedback and recommendations while promoting Union’s mission and engaging fellow classmates.
While the the Annual Fund's volunteer organization is extensive, most volunteers begin in one of two roles:
Associate Agents. Associate Agents are current donors who serve in a leadership position for their classes by working closely with Head Agents and Annual Fund staff to assist with fundraising and classmate outreach. There is no limit to the number of Associate Agents per class and length of service is dependent upon continued interest. Job responsibilities include:
- Working with Head Agents to meet or exceed class fundraising goals
- Contacting 10-15 classmates per year to solicit gifts and provide campus updates
- Recruiting other Associate Agents to build class network
Matching Gift Volunteers. Every year Union College receives over 4,000 gifts that are eligible for a match from an employer. A Matching Gift Volunteer works with the Annual Fund office and encourages his or her fellow employees who give to Union to pursue the company match. Duties include:
- Working with the Annual Fund office to increase awareness of alumni about matching gift opportunities within the company
- Updating the company's employee list of Union College alumni
- Strengthening the connections between Union alumni within the company
