How Can the Career Center Help U?

Career Education Division

The Career Education Division of the Becker Career Center has numerous programs and services to help prepare you for finding, interviewing for and securing jobs and internships. All class years are encouraged to take advantage of the Center's resources and are welcome at any time. A recommended first step is self-assessment. Students can assess their own unique work-related values, abilities and interests. Students can receive instruction through Career Education programs on resume writing, cover letters, networking and thank you letters, as well as employment and informational interviewing. The library of the Center contains extensive resources including professional field and industry information, employer literature, and graduate school materials. Career Education programs include: U Assess, Resume/Cover Letter 01 & 02, U Search, U Network and U Interview. Log into eRecruiting for the full schedule of programs.

Individual appointments with a Career Education staff member can be made by calling (518) 388-6176 or by coming to the Becker Career Center.

Experiential Education Division

Experiential education is learning by doing, in and out of the classroom. Students develop skills related to their academic and/or career interests and get a chance to put "theory into practice" by working in a real setting related to their studies. Such experiences may be called internships, co-ops, summer employment, job shadowing or volunteer experiences.
