at the Nott Memorial 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Author Website: www.davasobel.com Noted science writer, Ms. Dava Sobel, will present a talk on "When the Sun Stood Still: How Copernicus and Galileo ushered in a new cosmic order...and how the world responded" at the Nott Memorial as part of the celebration of the Dudley Observatory's 150th Anniversary. Sobel is the author of "Galileo's Daughter," "Longitude" and "The Planets." This event is free and open to the public and will be followed by a reception and book signing. Works of Copernicus and Galileo from the Dudley Observatory rare book collection will be on display. This event is jointly sponsored by Dudley Observatory and Union College. |
