The product of ten years of archival research by editor Wayne Somers '61 and fifty-four other contributors, the Encyclopedia of Union College History presents the most comprehensive study ever attempted of the College's past, from the grassroots movement responsible for its founding in 1795 to the close of the John Morris administration in 1990. It was published in 2003. Included are histories of the College’s educational programs, physical features, buildings, and student life as well as biographies of all members of the faculty and upper administration who served at the College for at least ten years. Additional biographical material is included for selected alumni and other members of the College community.
