Barber to talk on 9/11's effect on election

Benjamin Barber, noted political scientist and author, will speak on "November 2nd in the Shadow of 9/11: Terrorism, Fear and Democracy" on Thursday, Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Nott Memorial.
His talk, part of the College's Perspectives at the Nott series, is free and open to the public.
Barber is the Gershon and Carol Kekst Professor of Civil Society and Distinguished University Professor at the University of Maryland and a principal of the Democracy Collaborative.
An internationally renowned political theorist, Barber brings an abiding concern for democracy and citizenship to issues of politics, culture, and education in America and abroad. He is the author of 17 books – among them, Fear's Empire, Strong Democracy, and Jihad vs. McWorld.
