Prof. Wilms writes on Hollywood's depiction of air raids

Wilfried Wilms, assistant professor of German studies, gave a paper titled "Gallant Efforts: Hollywood's Strategic Celluloid Campaign," for the Netherlands' American Studies Association at the Free University of Amsterdam, Netherlands. His talk discussed Hollywood's ongoing role in the creation of American public memory of the air raids on Germany and Japan in World War II. The paper showed how blockbusters of the late 1940s aided in the formation of a standardized memory and bisected recollection pertaining to the wartime conduct of the United States.
