NASA Fellow Prof. Hsiao works on Hubble successor
Amy C. Hsiao, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, was awarded a NASA Summer Faculty Fellowship and spent the summer at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md. She worked on the magnetically-actuated microshutters to be used on the James Webb Space Telescope, to be launched in 2011 as the successor to the Hubble Space Telescope.
