Dutch ethicist to address euthanasia
Dr. Gerrit Kimsma, general practitioner and professor in medical ethics at the Free University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands, will speak on "Euthanasia and End-of-Life Care in the Netherlands" on Monday, Oct. 25, at 4:45 p.m. in Humanities 019 at Union College.
The talk, sponsored by the Center for Bioethics and the Philosophy Department at Union, is free and open to the public.
Kimsma, a Dutch physician who supports euthanasia, is co-founder and president of the Dutch society of Philosophy and Medicine, and co-founding member of the European Society of Philosophy of Medicine and Health Care.
Chalmers Clark,visiting scholar at Yale University and visiting professor at Union, will provide commentary.
