Prof. Mosquera gives paper at MLA conference
Daniel Mosquera, assistant professor of Spanish, presented a paper titled "Consecrated Transactions: Of Marketplaces, Passion Plays, and other Nahua-Christian Devotions" at the Modern Language Association conference in Philadelphia last December. This paper dealt with the role marketplaces played in fostering and reproducing Christian lore among indigenous Mexicans. It was presented as part of a panel titled "Public Spectacles and Clandestine Performances in Colonial Latin America."
