Kenney Center mentors cited for service

In recognition of National Mentoring Month, the Schenectady City Council honored Kenney Community Center mentors this week for "outstanding service and commitment to furthering opportunities for mentoring the city's youth." 

Other recipients included the Schenectady City School District; where Kenney has several mentoring programs; the Schenectady County Summer Jobs Program for Youth, with which Union actively participates; and the Schenectady County Working Group on Girls. Gretchel Hathaway Tyson, Kenney Center director, is a member of the Working Group and Joanne Tobiessen, former director of Union's Career Development Center, is chair.
