Nominations due for Women's Commission prizes

As Prize Day approaches, it's time to nominate worthy students for several Women's Commission awards. Jennifer Matsue and Stacie Raucci, co-chairs of the President's Commission of the Status of Women, encourage you to consider these:

Senior Scholarly Activity Award: Recognizes one female who displays outstanding scholarly activity in her field

Senior Thesis Prize (2): For women and men whose thesis makes the greatest contribution to scholarship on women and/or issues of gender and sexuality

Senior Athletic Award: Honors one female who has done the most to promote athletics for women at Union

Community Service Award (2): Honors women and men who have furthered the cause of women, gender equality and acceptance of sexual orientations at the College

Athletic Promise Award: Recognizes a freshman or sophomore who shows the most promise in women's athletics

Senior Scholarly Activity Award: For the student who displays outstanding scholarly activity in her field

Submit nominations to Matsue at matsuej@union.edu Please include student's name, ID number (if available) and a short statement. Send supporting materials to Matsue via campus mail. Nominations are due by Tuesday, March 28. Prize Day is May 6.
