Vineyard research funding renewed

Research by Michael F. Vineyard, the Frank and Marie Louise Bailey Professor of Physics and chair of the department, has been renewed for $168,000 for three years, through 2009, from the U.S. Department of Energy. His current project is titled, "Nucleon Structure Studies with Electromagnetic Probes," and it uses electron and photon scattering experiments performed in Hall B at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility in Newport News, Va., to study the quark structure of matter.
