Homecoming 2006: A cornucopia of activities
It's your lucky weekend. Homecoming & Family Weekend kicks off Friday the 13th with some of fall's foremost events. Join the crowd – more than 2,600 alumni, family members and friends are expected. A few highlights:
Friday, Oct. 13: Writer Andrea Barrett '74 talks at Perspectives at the Nott, 8 p.m.; Roadside Blues Band plays at 9 p.m. in the Rathskellar.
Saturday, Oct. 14: Parents Association meeting, 8:30-10 a.m., Hale House; Alumni Council meeting, 9 a.m.-noon, Reamer Auditorium; "Experiential Education," stories of successful internships and the search process, 10-10:45 a.m., F.W. Olin Center Auditorium; Health Professions brunch with Barry Goldstein '73, photographer, physician, biophysicist and author, 10:30 a.m.-noon, College Park Hall; The Alumni Writers Series, featuring an informal talk with Andrea Barrett '74, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Wold House.
Also: Pre-game tailgate picnic/family carnival, 11 a.m., Alexander Field; football vs. Franklin & Marshall, 1 p.m., Frank Bailey Field; Harvest reception/dinner, 5:30-7:30 p.m., Upperclass Dining Hall; men's hockey vs. RIT, 7 p.m., Messa Rink; music by Bluz House Rockers, 9 p.m.–midnight, College Park Hall, to benefit the Annual Fund.
Sunday, Oct. 15: Autumn brunch 10 a.m.-noon, Upperclass Dining Hall; brunch/lecture, "The Middle East: The Day After," with Holocaust & Jewish Studies Professor Stephen Berk, 10:30 a.m., Nott Memorial.
