Gideon Hawley nominations sought

Faculty members are asked to help continue an important Union tradition – the Gideon Hawley Teacher Recognition Awards – by encouraging first-year students and sophomores to nominate a secondary school teacher who has made a difference in their lives. The award is named for the 1809 Union graduate who was a pioneer in education and teacher development. Award recipients, selected on the basis of the Union students' essays, will be honored at Founder's Day Feb. 22.

The deadline for nominations is Jan. 19. For details, contact Judy Ludwig at ludwigj@union.edu.
