New faces, roles at Grant Hall
There’ll be some unfamiliar faces at Union’s Open Houses this fall, not all of them prospective students and their families. There are a number of new staff members in Admissions and Financial Aid, and they will be on hand Monday, Oct. 8 (Columbus Day) and Monday, Nov. 12 (Veterans Day). Both Open Houses are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A look at who’s new at Grant Hall:
Sarah Henderson, assistant dean of Admissions, is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam, where she majored in Anthropology and English Literature. She interned at St. Lawrence University’s Center for International and Intercultural Studies. Henderson is the College’s international recruiter. She will also cover Colorado, the North Country, Western New York, St. Louis and Kansas City.
James Luciano, assistant dean of Admissions, most recently worked in admissions at the Sage Colleges while completing his graduate degree in counseling. He will represent Union in the Capital Region and New Jersey.
Abbey Massoud-Tastor ’07 was a French major and Spanish minor who studied with Union in Rennes. She will travel to Boston, Central New York and Ohio to meet with students and guidance counselors.
Ann Fleming Brown, interim vice president of Admissions and Financial Aid, also has announced several promotions. Vernon Castillo has been named senior associate dean of Admissions, and Geoff Bowman and Teran Tadal are associate deans. Tadal also is the College’s director of Multi-Cultural Recruitment.
Laura Augustine, who has been the associate director of Financial Aid, has agreed to serve as interim director of Financial Aid during the search for a new director, which is under way. Stephanie Frantz is assistant director of Financial Aid. Previously, she worked at Mildred Elley.
