Race, gender and politics: Melissa Harris-Lacewell, author of "Barbershops, Bibles and BET," speaks to students in Prof. Deidre Hill Butler's class on "African American Women" Tuesday. Prof. Harris-Lacewell also gave a public lecture on "Race and the 2008 Election" as part of the Presidential Forum on Diversity.  An associate professor of Politics and African American Studies at Princeton University, she is a frequent commentator on African American political thought, black religion, and social and clinical psychology.
