It's a lock: Patrick O’Hern ’11, left, and Dan Bailey ’09 clear brush at Lock 23 of the Erie Canal last weekend. They were among a dozen members of Sigma Phi fraternity, in their fourth year of pitching in for the spring cleanup coordinated by Prof. Andrew Morris of History. Alec Rosen ’10 organized the effort on behalf of Sigma Phi. Lock 23, one of the busiest points on the 19th century waterway, is a half mile east of Lock 8 on the Mohawk Bikepath. |
