Religious holidays noted

Following up on last week's notice about religious holidays this fall:

Some students may fast during Navaratra, which runs through Oct.12.

Ramadan, which began this week, ends on Nov. 3.  During this time

some students will be fasting from sun up to sun down, and some will return home to observe Eid on Nov. 3.

Yom Kippur starts at sundown on Wednesday, Oct. 12 and ends at sundown on Thursday, Oct. 13. The holiday involves both fasting and possible travel home.

Some students will return home on Nov. 1 to observe Diwali

Faculty members are encouraged to refrain from scheduling quizzes or exams during these holy days and to make appropriate arrangements for students to make up missed course work.
