They were on the money.

This week members of the MSA, MECCA, Shakti and Campus Action groups raised $1,035 from a fundraiser -- reaching their $1,000 goal -- to support relief efforts in northern Pakistan.

Recent earthquakes killed more than 57,000 people, most of them children, and left nearly five million others homeless.

The students sponsored an Indian dinner, with food donated by Taj Mahal restaurant in downtown Schenectady. They also raised money from henna tattoos.

All of the funds will go to UNICEF to aid the victims.
