Term abroad group safe in Rennes
Universite de Rennes, France |
Michelle Chilcoat, assistant professor of French, and her 12 students on the Rennes Term Abroad program are all safe and nowhere near any of the riotous activity occurring throughout France. The group's members have been staying with families throughout the city since mid-September and will return home in December. The civil unrest began Oct. 27 and has grown into a nationwide insurrection by suburban youths who contend they are victims of widespread discrimination and unemployment. In October, Union celebrated the 35th anniversary of the popular Rennes term.
