Spencer Crew to Speak Oct. 20
Spencer Crew, director of the National Museum of American History at the Smithsonian Institution, will talk on "The New Challenges of Presenting History in Museums" on Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Nott Memorial.
His talk, part of Union's Perspectives at the Nott speaker series, is free and open to the public.
As director of the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History, Spencer Crew has helped change the portrayal of America's past, shifting the emphasis from objects to people, highlighting America's diversity and richness. The talk will address the challenges and rewards of participating in this process of re-imagining America.
