Steve Leavitt, assistant professor of anthropology, has co-edited a book with Gilbert Herdt titled Adolescence in Pacific Island Societies (University of Pittsburgh Press, 1998). It includes a series of case studies from throughout the Pacific, and it focuses on themes of adolescent experience and cultural change.
Rudy Nydegger, associate professor of psychology, had an article titled "Continuing Education for Psychologists in New York" published in the New York State Psychological Association "Notebook" (Vol.X, No. 5, Fall 1998). This work involved a survey he designed to determine some of the issues surrounding the requirement of continuing education for psychologists licensed in New York. Every member of the state association was polled. This article discussed the findings and implications of the results.
