For the Record: Faculty, Staff Works Listed

Harold Fried, professor of economics, and Suthathip Yaisawarng, associate professor of economics, were co-organizers of the North American Productivity Workshop (NAPW) this summer at the College, a conference that drew 185 academics, consultants, and government officers from more than 30 countries. The focal issues of the three-day workshop were efficiency and productivity from theoretical and practical viewpoints. One of the conference activities featured a Thai banquet, planned by Yaisawarng and featured in the Times Union. For further details on the conference, click on www1.union.edu/~napw.

Stephen Leavitt, associate professor of anthropology, published an article, "The Apotheosis of White Men? A Reexamination of Beliefs about Europeans as Ancestral Spirits" in Oceania (Vol. 70, No. 4, June 2000. p. 304).

Rudy Nydegger, associate professor of psychology, has been appointed consulting editor for the journal Management Development Forum. He assumes the post this fall.
