Pianist Claude Frank opens chamber series with all-Beethoven program

Pianist Claude Frank, an internationally-acclaimed interpreter of the piano literature of Beethoven, opens the 2001-02 Union College chamber concert series with an all-Beethoven program on Monday, Oct. 1, at 8 p.m. in Memorial Chapel.

The program includes Sonatas No. 16 in G, Op. 31, No. 1; and No 21 in C, Op. 53, "Waldstein."

Mr. Frank has been a soloist with the great orchestras of five continents, including the New York Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, Boston
Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, and the National Symphony.

A renowned teacher, Frank is on the faculty at the Institute of Music in Philadelphia; he is a professor at the Yale School of Music.
