Butler presents a paper in Washington
Deidre Hill Butler, assistant professor of sociology, presented a paper, "`The Split:' A Womanist Interpretation of an Episode of Suburban Black Community Reconfiguration, 1904-1920," at the recent 86th annual conference of the Association for the Study of African-American Life and History in Washington. She also attended the Black Women's Studies Symposium at Mary McCleod Bethune Council House, one of the few national historic sites honoring African American women. The Symposium was sponsored by the Association of Black Women Historians.
