Gilman participates in workshops on East Asian Studies

Ted Gilman, associate professor of political science, was invited by the East Asian Institute at Columbia University to participate in a series of workshops titled "Expanding East Asian Studies." Funded by the Freeman Foundation, the program is intended to create innovative courses that incorporate the study of East Asia in broad thematic, transnational, and interdisciplinary contexts.The ExEAS teaching collaborative is made up of 15 faculty participants, four ExEAS postdoctoral fellows, Professor Carol Gluck (CU History Dept.) and six other Columbia faculty members. The program plans to produce a set of innovative syllabi to be pilot-tested at Columbia and shared nationally with other colleges and universities.
