Megan Lee

Megan Lee

Megan is a junior history and anthropology ID major. This is her first term abroad. In Fiji, she lived in the village of Naivuvuni, one of the three Navutu villages, up on a hill overlooking the ocean. Her homestay parents once hosted an American Peace Corps worker.

Megan is interested in women's issues. She put together a project that looks at women's domestic life, focusing specifically on the roles and personal lives of women who are married into their husbands' village. To place these women's experiences in proper perspective, Megan interviewed women of all ages. Her analysis in her project compares the perspectives of women in different circumstances and occupying different stages in their lives. She focuses on young unmarried women, women married into their husbands' villages, and older women who have already raised their families while living in their husbands' villages.
