TASMANIA TERM ABROAD

In the Anthropology Field School in Tasmania students live with local families and carry out full-time field research on individual research projects.  Most of these projects will be part of on-going research for agencies such as Tasmania’s Parks and Wildlife service and Tourism Tasmania.  Students also attend lectures on Tasmanian history and society, go on fieldtrips to areas of cultural and natural significance, and perform some community service. They are responsible for writing daily field notes on Tasmanian culture and current events, completing anthropological research methods assignments, and writing a final paper on their independent research.
