The Schaffer Library currently has 25 public access computers for the use of the Union College community
and visitors to the library. These computers are equipped with Internet access, DVD/CD-ROM and floppy disk
drives, 17" flat panel LCD displays, and are configured to print to the library's laser printer. The intention of these machines
is that they be used primarily for academic research, searching the
library catalog, WWW accessible databases,
BlackBoardTM courseware, and the WWW itself. Software viewers and utilities have been installed on each machine
to support these activities.
In addition, there are two computers located on the first floor that have full word processing functionality.
