Library Instruction: Basics for Faculty

We typically conduct sessions during class time in the Library or in one of the electronic classrooms.

Generally, we expect the faculty member to be present to encourage interaction regarding the research assignment.

We cover the use of relevant reference books, the Library catalog, and selected academically-appropriate Web resourses, but emphasize the electronic databases that provide access to the peer-reviewed literature in your field.

We create handouts and/or Web Research Guides to provide continuing support beyond the formal instruction session.

Feel free to contact any librarian who has previously conducted a session for you to request that the session be repeated. Please give us a minimum of sufficient preparation time prior to the date of the session.
