Search Options: search by title, author, subject, keyword, format, date, language, classification number
Materials Cataloged: Monographs, Congressional hearings, debates, records; conference proceedings; agency-sponsored studies; maps; handbooks; fact sheets
Coverage: July 1976-present
Print Counterpart: Monthly Catalog of U.S. Government Publications (MOCAT) up to 2003
After 2003 Catalog of U.S. Government Publications, GPO's online version of MOCAT

Hints for searching MarciveWeb DOCS:

  • Use the "Combined Search" feature to limit your search to options specific to your needs.
  • Use "Prev Page" and "Next Page" buttons to move through list of search results.
  • After you've clicked on a specific document, use the "Holdings" button in the top, left-hand corner to determine if Union is likely to have the item in the library or if it is available from other local depositories.
  • It is always good to double check a document in the Union College Web Catalog for specific holdings information, however, not everything is cataloged here.
Using Online Catalogs > Union College Web Catalog

Included in the Union College Web Catalog are selected government documents that are thought to best match the research needs of our users.  Remember that this in only a portion of the materials received from the Government Printing Office (GPO), so it is important to also check holdings in MarciveWeb DOCS, or with a Reference Librarian, if you aren't finding what you need. Documents generally may be checked out even if they aren't found through the OPAC, unless they're specifically tagged as non-circulating.

Holdings information for a government document you may encounter in a catalog search will look like this:
