We are a group of seven people who share a common interest, i.e., learning and utilizing a second language outside of the classroom and promoting the cultures of the countries in which these languages are spoken. The main languages of the house are German and Russian, but some of us  are also able to speak Polish, French and (of course) English. We speak German and/or Russian every day in the house and we sponsor a wide range of activities that allow other students of these languages to gain language skill and learn about German or Russian culture in an informal setting. For example we provide once in a week our "Chai-Klatsch" (on Tuesday for Russian and on Thursday for German). This is a time where several students come together in order to have a break, to have a tea/hot chocolate/coffee and to have the possibility to speak the new language. Together with Language House A, we have the following mission:

"The language theme houses exist to provide students with opportunities to practice their language skills in German, French, Russian or Spanish. Students who desire to improve their language abilities outside the classroom are welcome to either live in one of the houses or to participate in any of the events sponsored by the houses. In addition to language practice, the houses celebrate the cultures of Spanish, French, Russian and German speaking countries. Because language and culture go hand in hand, each event will provide exposure to both the languages and the culture."
