Statement: "I am so honored to be receiving this recognition. To me, Spanish is something that comes from within and studying this beautiful language is nothing more than a dream come true. With language, there is a new adventure daily and I learn and explore Spanish with new pieces of literature, movies, magazine and pop culture everyday. I hope to stay connected to this language in the future through frequent visits to Alcalá de Henares, Spain to visit my host family and working as a nurse practitioner in communities or high Spanish-speaking populations."
