The Sociology Newsletter is published each term under the direction of Professor Kaplan. Sarah Osowski is the editor for the 2002-2003 academic year. The newsletter is sent to all Sociology majors and minors, and it includes information on community activities, student research, internships, grants, graduate study, and faculty scholarship.

Message from the President

Adrianna Zavala is the President of the Sociology Club for the academic year 2002-2003. Melissa Cistoldi and Angie DeSilva are the Co-Vice Presidents.

I would like to thank everyone that helped out with our two Sociology Club events during the winter term. The Schenectady Day Nursery children came for a game of basketball and treats and had a great time. A special thanks go to the Phi Iota Alpha Brothers for helping us with the basketball games and videotaping it for a Union College documentary.

Our winter food drive was a success. In just two days, were were able to collect a large amount of food for Bethesda House. Next term, I hope to have a longer food drive and invite another group of children to the college for a fun activity. I am also open to any suggestions you may have.
