Get Started with Publishing or Subscribing a Podcast

Install iTunes

• Go to Apple iTunes Page and download iTunes (pick Windows or Macintosh version).
• Double click on the downloaded file and follow the instruction on the screen to install the software.
• On "Union College on iTunes U" page, click one of the two links to get connected to the iTunes U page.

Publish a Podcast

• Prepare your files: mp3 for audio; mp4 or m4v for video
• Log in to your iTunes and click the title of your course.
• On the top right corner, click the Upload Files link.

• This opens a new window in your web browser where you can upload the files. Select the tab where you want to upload the file.

• Click on the icon "Add track(s)", a new box with a button "Browse" or "Choose File" appears. Locate the file on your computer, press "Open" and wait for the file to upload on the server.

• Repeat this step to add more files.
• After uploading all your files, click on "Return to iTunes" icon.
• All files will appear in iTunes and will be available for download or subscribe.

Download Files or Subscribe a Podcast

• Once you are at the Union College main page in iTunes, you can choose the course you are enrolled in by clicking its title. Then, you are going to see all the files (audio, video, or documents) that have been uploaded for this course. Remember that you can also click on a tab with a particular week (Week 1, Week 2, etc.).
• To download an individual file click on the button which says "Get song", "Get movie", or "Get" next to the file title.
• To download all files in a course click the "Get tracks" button under the course title in the header.
• To subscribe to a course click the "Subscribe" button under the course title in the header. The files will appear in your Podcasts. Subscription allows the student to automatically get new course content without logging in to iTunes U.
• All files you download using "Get" buttons appear in a playlist called "Union College" in iTunes.
