Faculty Multimedia Fair 2008
Information Technology Services is sponsoring the third annual "Learning and Teaching with Technology" event on Friday, March 7, 2008. The ITS Curricular Support group will be presenting projects accomplished over Summer, Fall, winter break 2007 and Winter 2008. The featured projects include web design, online research projects and server setup, interactive media gallery and online communication.

The ITS Curricular Support will also give a brief introduction and demonstration on a few emerging technologies, such as Web 2.0 applications, including wikis, podcasts, blogs and other collaborative tools. These applications are either currently available, or will be available for piloting in Spring. Come to join us and learn more about the opportunity of choosing the right technological tools to enhance teaching and learning. The Q & A sessions on each applications will be offered as well.

More than twenty faculty members will give presentations on their innovative uses of podcasting, blogging, 3D video, visualization, student response system (clickers) and much more.

ITS is sponsoring the second annual one-day "Learning and Teaching with Technology" event on Friday, March 2, 2007. The Office of Curricular Support will be presenting more than twenty projects accomplished over summer 2006 and winter break 2006. The featured projects include web design and development with multimedia components, audio/video editing, and image management.
We will be presenting a few other interesting projects as well, such as "Mapping of Instructional Technology Support Survey", "Using Web-based Mapping in a Demography Class", "Production, processing, and viewing a stereo photograph pair", "Seeing Red (and Blue): A Tutorial on Anaglyphs", and "Tips and Tricks of Teaching with Blackboard". A short demo of audio and video conversions, ideas and process of podcasting will be presented throughout the day.

Faculty Multimedia Fair 2006
ITS is sponsoring a one-day "Learning and Teaching with Technology" event on Friday, Feb. 17, 2006. The Office of Curricular Support will be presenting over thirty projects accomplished since summer 2003. The featured projects include web design and development with multimedia components, digital media editing, image management, database design and multimedia productions. We will be presenting a few other interesting projects as well, such as "Using GIS to View the Geographical Dimension of Humanity", a high speed digital video for Biology, Web Modules for Nanotechnology, the Chemistry Placement Exam, and Creative ways to use Blackboard.

Instructional Technology Profiles
A collection of instructional projects across Humanities, Sciences, Social Sciences and Engineering. The profiles contain information on the technologies used to create the projects, instructional goals, and links to each project with screenshots. Eighty two (82) projects have been added to the database.

Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Grant
Using Technology to Facilitate Interdisciplinary Teaching & Learning
A four-year (1998-2002) grant of $335,000 from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation enables Union faculty to experiment with and adapt computer and multimedia technologies and tools in the Freshman Preceptorial, an interdisciplinary course required of all entering students, and in other undergraduate courses.
