Shifting Toolbars in Microsoft Office XP 2003

Microsoft Office allows you to relocate your toolbars. This tutorial explains how to rearrange and relocate your toolbars in any of the Office applications.

When the toolbar is under the menu bar...

  1. Move your cursor to the handle on the toolbar you which to shift. The handle looks like a set of four embossed dots in a vertical line on the far-left edge of the toolbar.

  2. Left-click on the handle, and - while holding the left mouse button down - drag the toolbar to a new position.
  3. Release the left mouse button to lock the toolbar in its new position.

When toolbar is not attached to the edge of the program window...

  1. Move your cursor to the title bar of the toolbar that you wish to move.

  2. Left-click on the title bar, and - while holding the left mouse button down - drag the toolbar to a new position.
  3. Release the left mouse button to lock the toolbar in its new position.

Note: If you wish to delete an unattached toolbar, click on the X button on the far-right side of the title bar.
