Graduation Information
In order to graduate, students are expected to spend a minimum of two years pursuing full-time studies at the College, including their senior year, either on campus or through an approved study abroad program. To qualify for a degree, a student must also:
- Complete satisfactorily a minimum of thirty-six term courses in all programs except engineering, which may require up to forty (in two-degree programs, nine courses beyond the requirements for the professional degree);
- Complete satisfactorily requirements in the General Education Curriculum;
- Complete satisfactorily the requirements in the major field, degree program, or interdepartmental major, including the major field examination and/or thesis, as applicable;
- Attain minimum cumulative indices of 1.80 overall, and 2.00 in the major and in the minor if one has been declared.
To graduate, a student must also pay all sums due to the Finance Office, make satisfactory provision for payment of any other financial obligations assumed while in college, and return all books borrowed from the library.
Each student is solely responsible for assuring that the program presented for graduation fulfills all requirements, both in general and in specialized study. The Registrar's Office should be consulted when questions arise about the satisfaction of graduation requirements. Notice of intent to graduate must be sent to the registrar not later than November 4th.
