The Academic Opportunity Program (AOP) and the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) have a long and proud tradition of scholarship and academic excellence, serving students for more than thirty years. Both programs offer an opportunity for enrollment at the college to a select group of talented students in need of educational and financial assistance. The New York State funded Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) was created in 1969 by the New York State Legislature to assist in providing access for all New Yorkers to the state's private colleges and universities. Students enrolled in the Higher Education Opportunity and the institutionally funded Academic Opportunity Program receive personalized academic, personal and academic support during their college experience.
The following support services are available to AOP/HEOP students:
- Pre-First Year Summer Program
- Financial aid covering tuition, room & board, and book allowance
- Individualized and group tutoring
- Academic, personal, career and financial counseling
