Undergraduate Research

Student Research Funding

We offer three programs for funding student research activities
  • Student Research Grants
Student Research Grants [formerly Internal Education Fund (IEF) Category B] were established to promote educational innovation and to help enrich the College's educational programs. Student Research Grants encourage intellectual curiosity and provide opportunities to exercise intellectual abilities.
  • Student Conference Travel Grants
These grants allow students to travel to professional meetings to present the results of research they have done at Union.
  • Student Travel to the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR)
Each year a contingent of Union students travels to NCUR. Unlike meetings of other professional bodies, this gathering of young scholars welcomes presenters from all institutions of higher learning and from all areas of the academic curriculum.

All three of these programs provide funds for students to purchase materials necessary to complete their research projects and to travel to present the results of their work to a wider audience. More information about application to each program can be found a the links above. For information about these programs, please contact Prof. Kristin M. Fox, Director of Undergraduate Research.
