Summer Research 2008
Summer has been a busy time for the dozens of students participating in one of the College's most distinctive academic offerings - undergraduate research.
More than 120 students representing every class year have engaged in scholarly work under the direction of faculty members in a range of disciplines.
"Students are an integral part of the vibrant summer research community here at Union. Some are contributing to ongoing faculty research efforts, and others are initiating research projects of their own design," said chemistry professor Mary K. Carroll, director of undergraduate research since 2005. Kristin Fox, an associate professor of chemistry, takes over Sept. 1.
Students showcased their research at a poster session in Olin Wednesday, Aug. 6.
