Summer Housing in 2013

Specific housing assignments will not be made until sometime in the spring term. This summer, housing will be available for students in a Minerva House. Some meals will be available on campus (for a fee) and students will have access to several kitchens in Minerva houses.

Student stipends are calculated to include the cost of housing. Students are responsible for making their own housing arrangements with Residential Life and housing costs will be billed directly to students. The cost of housing is $75/week (including partial weeks) and will be collected at the Cashier's Office on the following schedule:

Students Graduating in June 2013: Full payment due by June 21

Students who will be enrolled for the entire academic year 2013-2014:

Friday, July 19: First half of housing cost

Friday, Aug. 9 (or before leaving campus): Balance of housing cost

Payment can be in cash or check (credit and debit cards are not accepted; housing costs cannot be billed to a student's account).

The block available for student summer housing extends from Wednesday, June 19, through Friday, August 16, 2013.  Students may choose any consecutive weeks for housing.

All belongings must be removed from a student's 2012-2013 housing assignment by Monday, June 17. Students beginning summer research immediately after commencement may be able to move directly into their summer housing assignment. If, however, the summer research begins later than Wednesday, June 19, students will need to bring their belongings home with them at that time and bring what they need for the summer back when they return.

Students applying for summer housing will indicate on their housing forms which of these weeks they expect to be on campus.  It may be possible for students to arrange campus housing later in August, but the students interested in doing so must make individual arrangements with the Office of Residential Life. (Mid- to late-August is a “transition time” for the Office of Residential Life, so students staying on campus might have to move from one room to another.)
