Special Events and Conferences seeks to balance the College’s educational responsibilities with its commitment to cultural, social and economic development of the local community of which it is a part.

About Us

Special Events and Conferences is a clearinghouse for all Union College events for faculty, staff, students and the local community. It also maintains and publishes the Central Scheduling calendar, a centralized list of all scheduled classroom and meeting space. Department personnel are available to coordinate all event needs such as site selection; catering; scheduling policies and procedures; contract administration; and risk management compliance.

To ensure a high level of quality service for all Union College events, all are encouraged to use the on-line request form located on the Event Services home page.

Office of Special Events & Conferences

• Work with the Office of Special Events & Conferences to verify group requirements &  finalize set up details, meal counts, catering, audio visual and any other services.
• Work with Facilities Services to set-up/break-down events held throughout campus  facilities. Must be willing to set-up and take-down tables and chairs.
• Assist with opening & closing of residence halls: Inspecting and preparing rooms,  delivering & removing of linens, linen exchange and delivering packaged mail.
• Organizes and participates in group check in and check out.

• Works with conference staff to submit groups billing after departure.

• Monitor events to ensure proper service and set-up.

• Respond to requests for assistance with a courteous and efficient manner.

• Represent the College in friendly, professional manner.

• Perform tasks necessary for the daily operation of the office (telephones, filing, etc.)

• Knowledge of word and excel a plus.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be able to lift 20-50 pounds.

• Hours are flexible and may include evenings or weekends.
