Assistant Professor, Union College (Schenectady, NY) The Department of Modern Languages & Literatures seeks applicants for a tenure track position in Chinese at the level of Assistant Professor, beginning September, 2010; Ph.D. required in Chinese or related field with native or near native proficiency in Chinese and excellent command of English. Previous college teaching experience at the first, second, and third year levels is highly desired. Responsibilities will include teaching courses in Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Chinese as well as courses in literature and cultural studies. Because Union seeks to expand its interdisciplinary curriculum, candidates with multidisciplinary expertise should bring that expertise to the attention of the search committee; preference may be for candidates who can contribute not only to our Asian Studies program but also to Film Studies and/or Women’s and Gender Studies.
