Assistant Professor of American Literature
(Tenure Track)
Assistant Professor, Union College. Seeking a tenure-track Assistant Professor of American literature with a research focus in 18th and early 19th century and the ability to teach literature from the 18th through the late 19th century. We would welcome candidates with an interest in environmental literature or in historical, art historical, transnational, or other interdisciplinary approaches. Ph.D. required by fall, 2010. Applicants must be committed to both excellent teaching and publication. 2-2-2 load in trimester system. Courses to include classes in American literature and culture, the college's introductory course for first year students, and the department’s introduction to fiction or poetry.
